Does SAGE Use the ASI Numbering System?
Why can't I search by ASI number?
SAGE does not use ASI numbers.
With SAGE, however, you do not need the ASI number of the supplier you are looking for. We cross reference all suppliers by their line name, company name, SAGE number, PPAI number, and personal ID. Most SAGE users look up suppliers by line name, since that's generally easier to remember than any number.
In addition, when you are searching by product, any supplier identification is not necessary because SAGE gives you instant access to all the information you will need regarding the supplier (including phone, fax, email and web address). There's no need to look up the supplier in another resource after finding them in SAGE.
As mentioned above, SAGE also has a personal ID field that you can use to enter your own alphanumeric ID for each supplier for easier searching with your customized identifiers. Once you enter the personal ID for the supplier, the ID will then show up on all of the various supplier screens and you can search by this field to find the supplier at any time.
